Hb, not sure about that and am not about to find out by stripping mine! But I could look it up in the shop manual if needed.

Nice find. Please keep us updated.Jimo wrote: ↑Sat Aug 15, 2020 5:48 am The sun doesn’t always shine on the righteous but it has this time! After trolling the web for several weeks looking for an engine or a crankshaft yesterday my luck changed and I found an 85-88 CH250 crankshaft/con-rod assembly at a very reasonable price so I jumped at it!
The CH250 Spacy and the Helix each share a bore of 72mm and a stroke of 60mm. The CH250 Spacy (Elite in the States) shares the same vertical engine as the Helix on its early models 85 - 88, after that the CH250 used the new horizontal engine of the same 244cc capacity, this latter horizontal engine can also be found in Honda’s FES250 Foresight also believed to use the same crankshaft.

The crankshaft and the gasket set have arrived, the shaft is 100% excellent with no roughness anywhere, I’ve booked the bike in with my local much younger and enthusiastic repairer Matt Pope of www.mattpopemotorcycles.co.uk for the 28 September, I’ll get him to fit the replacement shaft together with my new HAGON rear shocks while at the job.

Re: Honda Helix CN250
Just been catching up on Jim's crankshaft saga and Ive had a look at Jim's garage of choice which looks like a very professional set-up. Do we have any Yorkshire based Helix riders who could recommend a trustworthy and knowledgable mechanic specifically for Helix scooters in or around the Leeds/Bradford/Harrogate/Skipton sort of areas?
Cheers

KP Motorcycles in Harehills; a proper old-skool bike shop. Kev, the proprietor, is a great chap and has done all the jobs on my CNs that I can't (or won't) do.Pandrop wrote: ↑Mon Aug 24, 2020 6:24 pm Just been catching up on Jim's crankshaft saga and Ive had a look at Jim's garage of choice which looks like a very professional set-up. Not surprised it's already gone - a 1998 bike and a 1986 one with the Kenwood radio for a grand! I'm relieved I didn't see that ad while it was still for sale!Jimo wrote: ↑Tue Aug 25, 2020 2:07 pm Andrew here’s something to look at ......http://m.used-vehicle-sales.com/uk/sale ... 44398.html
