VESPA ??!!??!! What is Good about one??????

Post by maxiscoot nz »

Apart from nostalgia and the fact there was little else available in the 50,s and 60,s and they were leading technology then what is the reason in this day and age?

Its still big in UK and not just MOD's they are more mirrors and Parkers some prefer the clean no fuss look .Its more a social think than the scooters its the music the get together's en mass ride outs ect . Isle of Wight still biggest scooter rally in world I think .I go out on local runs with trad guys and dont quite get it myself some times as theres always a breakdown but they seem to love taking them to bits in laybys .They all swarm around get the tools out take the piss .

I have a GTS300ie Touring and it is a lovely bit of kit. It has a chrome rack on the front and back which makes up for the small underseat storage and a fly screen which does little for wind hitting the body but does keep the wind off the hands.
The chassis although basic works extremely well considering the small wheels. It feels safe and comfortable even for me at 6'3" at all speeds from a crawl to 70 mph. The performance and economy is excellent and the retro look is a bonus for me.

Vespa GTS300 Super for practical runabout, Triumph Tiger Explorer for conquering the planet. Car almost obsolete.

They still look fabulous.
Plus they are light, agile, easy to maintain and very economical.
And fun.
