Hi advice for a possible owner

Hi

I'm a harley fatboy owner looking for someone more usable practical
Not sure if I'm doing right by considering the 400 burgman.

Less power it's a scooter and will it be as fun

My riding will be local trips and motorway commute will this be up to the task .

If yes what should I look for in a used model


Your experience/help will be appreciated

If ya worried go 650 rather than 400

I've never ridden a Harley, 49 years of motorcycling, but the bike I enjoy is a Burgman 400. Get a 2007> model, keep the Harley until you adjust to the different riding style, which may take a couple of months.

Yeah scooters are fun and you'll love the practicality of great storage excellent weather protection.

I think you should test both the 650 and 400 as they are both good machines with different characters. The Honda silverwing would be another good contender if a little long in the tooth.

I've just bought a Honda Integra which is great except for the shite storage so give that a whirl too if it boats your float (it's a bit of a marmite scoot but being half bike half scoot you might like the transition).

Go for the 650, it has everything you want and more. Test ride one and you will not be disappointed I guarantee

It seams as if the 400cc is favoured over the 650 g/box
Is the 400 o/k on the motorways and or two up

If this is not the case is there much difference in ability mpg and overall running costs of both variants.

To be honest I've always been a biker not a scooter rider, I'm looking at practicality but needs to be fun with enough to raise a grin.

Good morning and welcome Fatboy ,i have owned loads of Harleys over the last 30 years or more and now ride an aprilia srv 850 v twin scooter . It was the best decision i have made as it has kept me on 2 wheels and more importantly its always making me smile . It does it all commutes ,tours , trips to the shops and even track days and is great 2 up . Sorry to say this but most of these maxis are a lot better in most departments than any HD i have owned and i am being honest . If you like 2 up i would suggest the bigger maxis .
