Could you do me a favour measure the under seat storage .I'm after a cheap scooter to tour on not sure how big the K5 is compared to k7 on redesign .Want to get camping stuff underseat if poss so .Then if don't camp only take what need into a hotel not luggage load of gear in .

As a rough guide, in a k5 you can just about open one of those fold flat plastic crates in there. it's almost 20x15x8" in old money.

Does recess go back as far as the lights

No, there's 3 or 4 inches back from the edge of the opening, but the lights sit behind the tub, bulbs are reached from underneath the light cluster.
