After living with the Avons for about 800 miles I probably would not get them again once they are worn out.

Update on the Avons. Ok if ridden in the dry but awful in the wet. It is like riding on ice.

By wet I mean if a fly drops a bead of sweat on the road and then that is wet. Such a strange tyre. I am off to Le Mans in a couple of months and do not fancy having the Avons on the bike for that. ( riding the bike over damp steel decks is just not going to end well!)
So ignoring the OEM Bridgestones what to get? Was thinking of Michelin Pilot Road 4’s but just checked their website and the 650 Burg does not come up.

As I stated earlier I had no problems with Avons on my Silverwing on dry and wet roads,I’ll stick with Bridgestones on my Burgman 650 as they do the job

From looking at the various forums Avons on the Burg do not seem to work - I had no choice as the tyres I had were 500 miles past needing to be changed and I did not have the time to wait for anything else to arrive. Never really got on with Bridgestones on any of my bikes. Ok for grip but never last more than 3000-4000 miles (normally get 10,000 - 14,000 on Tourances) so I thought I would try other manufacturers to see if they lasted longer as at 4,000 miles a tyre I would be going through 2 sets a year.
Hopefully I will put some Michelin Road Pilot 4’s on, just waiting on my tyre guy to get back on price etc. No massive rush for a change

Only reason I buy anything other than oem tyres is a-different make on bike I buy.b-an emergency and I can’t get oem tyre.
If it ain’t broke why fix it,very true so why piss around to save a view quid or supposedly get mega mileage etc. On here say, beats me lol.
