Ray, the busses in summer are always jam packed, Valletta is beautiful but hundreds of steps and steep streets. I love it, but I think if you have walking difficulties and you want to get around it will be an issue.

IMO If you stayed in Valetta only and didn't venture far from the cathedral for all your food & entertainment (trolly train hourly) then ok.
However witch in law has bad knees & hips found streets sloping and slippery (as did I so bought new shoes not flip flops)and got a cab pretty much everywhere (not to expensive if you download the app) but avoid the black cabs/ those ordered by the hotels as they hyped the price)

Thanks Scootypuff. The uneven cobble pavements in Portugal are a problem for her.

apparently no recordable rain fall for 45 days straight and none expected until maybe next weekend- love it
