I think your best bet is to look at hotels near to or in Sliema its not as noisy as St Julian's, the bike hire will be just around the corner and we live a 15 minute walk away. Just about every bus runs through it so sight seeing will be easier.

Although me and the wife have booked Sliema, your never going to be too far as long as your on the same side of the island. Hotels in Sliema tend to be tall and narrow with pools on the roof as its prime location .
When booking holiday insurance make sure your covered to ride a scooter, Terry is going to aim at big wheel 125's for renting, as they are fast enough for Maltese roads even two up. Most insurance companys only cover up to 125cc, so check your policy.

Air Malta fly from various uk airports...I just found a flight from LGW for £100 return on your dates and also Luton. I fly frequently and always check skyscanner.net first which finds every cheap flight available. Then i book with the carrier. Hope this helps

Yes , but after trying to book flights and insurance i was told i need a letter of fitness to fly off my Doctor which i cannot get until my next hospital appointment , and that should be in the next 5 or 6 weeks.

Just looked at the skyscanner site..tis ok. will look at package tours from our local shop also.
