At 800 miles or so on my Xmax 300 now. For the last hundred or so I've noticed the exhaust note seems a little throaty at low speeds around the 4k rpm mark. Not sure if this is new or just more obvious now I'm normally going faster and the general wind noise drowns it out.

When I first got mine I thought it was quite throaty but cant say I notice
any change now at 1030 miles, I have noticed with other bikes that they
seem to sound a bit louder as the miles mount, the X-max must be on the quiet
side from the front as many don't seem to hear it coming and the wife only
notices I am home when I land outside the garage.
There was one up at Ribble Head in the car and a X-max 300 or 250 with a
Akrapovic on and that sounded good did not expect seeing a scooter when
I heard it, not sure I would want to hear it all day though, and in one of
the road tests the tester said the Akrapovic made little difference to the
noise maybe a baffle in out thing.

Had to put a Scorpion on my old Gilly Runner 200 when the 'zorst rotted through...
Noise got right on my tits on the commute...

I'm a fan of a fruity zorst - Remus CCM Branded Race can on a CCM R30 650 single - supermoto!
but a time n place - and with a scoot its constant drone as there are no gear changes...

Out the other day and a car pulled out on me at about 50/60 mph,
scooter stops well had the tyre chirping, the abs did not cut in so
there was likely a bit more, many abs's would have cut in before
that makes me happy I hate them cutting in early.

Did test the abs today as I had doubts it was working as it had not
activated even though my built in abs had and the tyres were
squeaking right on the point of locking but yes if I shut my mind
and really brake passed even the point I feel safe with, it does activate,
one up to the abs first one I have had that I could not beat.
And It does not leave any doubt when it does.

hi and postponing a bit my messages here...reason is that I landed in hospital for a over a week but hopefully will be let home this friday or coming monday...Scoot3 is well and healthy and waiting for its final 150 miles before the service again...but I got hit by the flu ( just the flu and no cars!!) during a shift and ended up in A&E with sepsis flu...so being on several drips since a good few days but typing on a small mobile is not ideal either...So I am watching you from afar ...:) Good thing the weather is not that great so I do not feel too frustrated about being out there in the rain/snow...Interesting posts throughout re "meet and ride " as well as revealing the secret weapons of the Xmax 300 !! ( go for it and let me know !!)...As soon as I am out I will fly again...:) Kepp safe and sane ...Avoid the flu as it is an invisible leathal weapon.. though not fatal in my case ...)

I did think you had been silent for a wile, that flue is nasty, get well soon.
You will find the scoot much better once you can use the extra 900 rpm,
just why it's not 5400 rpm instead of 5500 I haven't a clue, but it allows
45/50 mph it doesn't sound much but it makes things much better and
in my mind safer, mine is now at 1200 miles and will sit at 70 and just
under 6000 rpm, doesn't look like your missing much weather wise this
week next week is looking better.
Get well soon
When you take it in for the 600 mile service if they have a problem with
resetting the oil trip it is due to one of the button pushes has to be
for something like between 17 and 22 secs it's in the owners book but
it does have to be between those times or it wont reset, it's to stop it
being reset by accident,
