Hello from the Isle of Man

Hi guys :)

I've not long been riding scooters, only a year or so. No idea why it took me so long really. I have missed out on some fun over the years as I love riding about on one. Was on a 125 X-Max last year until a car took me out and broke me+scooter! Am alright now (although others may disagree lol) and enjoying my 2018 X-Max 400 which I got at the start of the year. I opted for the 400 over the 300 for numerous reasons: I really needed the longer travel suspension due to carrying a bit of timber (or alot), also my daughters like a ride on the back from time to time, parking brake etc etc. Been enjoying riding around the Isle of Man on it since, weather permitting.

Looking forward to the Easter weekend, as I will be jumping on the ferry to Heysham and riding up through the Lake District to a Tibetan Buddhist Centre named Samye Ling in Eskdalemuir for a bit of peace. Hopefully the weather will be good and the ride up a pleasure.

Thanks folks :).

Welcome, last time I was up at the Temple at Eskdalemuir one of
the Buddhists came up and asked about the Maxton suspension
on a V-strom a mate was testing for a mag article, must admit
I was a little taken aback that he had any interest.

Made me chuckle that did @Ralph lol I am a practicing Buddhist myself, although not a Monk, but a lay practitioner. Mind you I suppose it may seem a bit strange to some talking about bikes with an ordained Monk in robes etc.

How did you like it at the centre, spend long there or just a flying vist?

Just a flying visit, it was a beautiful waypoint on the Round Britain Rally,
there's another near Ulverston I think I pass it a few times a year,

Don't know when you were last over but there's a new link road from Heysham
to the M6 cutting out Lancaster straight out of Heysham along the wide bypass
at the end instead of turning right for Lancaster go straight on big wide road that
takes you to the M6 or A6, watch the roundabouts they tighten up on you.
