welcome back ;)

x10 are spacious and decent performance but heard they are they on the heavy side. i wouldn't go for a BMW maxi scooter way over priced for what they are and the build quality aint all that for the price tag you pay.

you looked into the yamaha tmax ? or the gilera Nexus ? Aprilia SRV?

Which Burgman are you thinking of? 400/650? I assume you mean the 650 to compare with BMWs?
IMHO....
BMWs - pretty good to ride and decent performance / comfort / space etc - but dealers have quoted insane servicing costs that would make an oil sheik blanch, so I'm steering clear!
Burgman - a decent enough scoot, competent, but wildly overweight, and, for me, lacked the fun factor.
X10 - only the 350 normally available in the UK, so whilst the 350 is a brilliant engine in the Beverly, its got a lot more weight to drag around in the X10. The X10's chassis / suspension design is obviously rather more primitive than the Tmax/BMW/Burgman 650 etc. Personally I think the X10 is the ugliest scoot (and possibly the ugliest object) ever made, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder!
Buy a Tmax....it makes more sense!!!!

Sorry to hear about your sad news Keith, make sure your mind is in the right place before you buy and before you go out on a bike/scoot.

I'll be putting my 2009 MK3 TMax 500 up for sale soon.

Sad news, my condolences.

As others have said put your head in the right space before buying as toys ain't cheap no more.

What are you using the scoot for then choose your engine & size around the need.

I would swerve the BMW unless you have money to burn & I'm not a huge piaggio fan.

Burg 650 pre reg going for 8K now ( the price they where 2 years ago)

Bus passes are good. The 144 from Worcester to Birmingham runs close to my house and stops outside the Honda dealers in Bromsgrove, Very handy :)
