Silverwing leg wind deflectors.

Should I or shouldn`t I.

Managing, but are they much of an improvement.

I think I once read they hinder your feet ? on and off the boards.

Or so that chap thought.

Anyone got some for sale please while I am on.

Thanks Mark.

I'm considering selling my SWing and I have a set of wind deflectors that I was going to fit but never got round to it. I'll let you know when I've made a decision. I might have a Delkevic exhaust for sale as well. A lot depends on whether I sell the SWing private or trade it.

Meldrew wrote:You're right bud, I bought a set for my '08 650 Burgman soon after I bought it, put them on one day and took them off the next. In fact I think I've still got them in one off the boxes of junk in my garage.
IIRC, kayz1 also put them on one day and took them off the next. Talking of stuff in your garage, if you ever decide to sell your barkbusters please give me a shout (pm as I've lost your email when fs.net was shut down)

I rode my then new Silverwing from Ostend - where the dealer was - to Bruges along the motorway, trouser-legs flapping vigorously.
Rode back a few days later to have the deflectors fitted, trouser-legs still flapping.
Rode home - no flapping!
Took me a very few miles to get used to them; just have to remember to move my feet back a tad before putting them down.
It's second-nature now.
I would not like to be without deflectors.

Had a similar issue with thedeflectors on the Burgman650. They were very effective, but remembering to move your foot back never did quite become second nature to me.....especially if you needed to put your foot down urgently!

If I sell the SWing it looks like my mate is having the Wind Deflectors and Exhaust for his. If he changes his mind I'll give you first refusal.

Thanks JB.

My son has just passed his car test this week, so is maybe considering a silverwing post 2007 to share with his good lady who is going to do direct access. Just passed her CBT. Can she then ride a 50HP silverwing straight away, she is 28 ? but not tall.

No way on earth she can cope with his BMW R1100RT. ( I really can`t at all ).

He nearly had my silverwing as I was going back to a T max but sadly my hips are beyond one now so having to stay with the silverwing myself. As only a 27" inside leg the T max seat sort of forces them out now as getting worse.

So we may have a fleet, ( small fleet of 2 ) of them if he does get one as well. But hes not sure he can let his 1100 BMW go.

Maybe an xv535 or something similar would do them better really.

He loves my SW but hes in much better condition than me.

I need a Burgman 650, T max, silverwing, 400 lb type amalgamation !!! really.

Best Mark.
