Ray, Weston is popular all year round now so more tourists more fast food more rubbish? Not to mention the seagulls!
Did you ride there or car?
We often used to go in the winter when quieter and had our collie

Must admit have thought about going down on scoot on the a38 over Clifton bridge and down a369? Or further for a weekend away follow a39 down to Ilfracombe through Bridgewater, Minehead, Porlock up the toll road as more scenic Lynton and Lynmouth, Blackmore gate and Coombe Martin, etc, trouble is with van we get used to using the m5, could camp around padlock by Horner water or even Butlins!! If you have the right colour jacket!

Lynton and Lynmouth are very nice, Porlock would be a good place to stay, about right distance from here, Exmoor and Dunkery beacon to explore, nice ride to North Devon and back to Porlock then pack up and back home.

Today's culinary field test for the camping gas cooker (well garden actually) was a diced peppar, a diced onion, 8 chopped mushrooms and 3 pre smoked cooked mackeral fillets, onions in first then pepper then the mushrooms and lastly flake off the mackeral and chuck in the pan, ummm lovely, used the 1 calorie spray type oil worked ok and easy to carry when going on camp?
