...which I believe is fairly common?
To be replaced without quibble under warranty anyway, so not a great problem!

I had a spate of EBC ones warping a few years ago, but no problems recently. Whilst its no problem in the warranty period, it will be a problem when the warranty ends!

Mine did the same no problems they just put a new disc and pads on,
I'm not hard on the brakes so am keeping a eye on it but it's been ok since.

My pointed question will be - "Does the replacement disc itself have a 2-year warranty"!

One of those interesting questions! My guess is that it will be covered until the end of the 2 year warranty period. After then, I assume parts have a 12 month warranty.....though I don't know why I think 12 months rather than any other time! Parts will have a warranty, subject to wear & tear of course.

Hmm. My front brake is "lumpy". At low speed the brake makes the front of the bike bob slightly. I am going back next week for the v-belt (proper one's arrived) so I'll ask serious questions then.

Is there a website I can reference citing this as "fairly common"?

Only that it seems to have been mentioned a few times on here - I haven't tried an internet search otherwise.
But those symptoms should definitely get you a replacement disc when checked by a dealer; assuming you're still in warranty.

7000kms on my xmax300 and front disc is fine. I believe it's a floating/semi floating disc, so could very well be the mounting pins/bobbins that are caked with dirt or brake dust causing the floating to stop. This will give a pulsating feeling through the front brake lever. Use brake cleaner to give the disc mounting points a thorough clean.

Inspected by dealer; confirmed as warped.
