"lawns" Mr Grumpy 'lawns', not in the singular? Did one take tiffin, afternoon luncheon, following one's exertion?

For two days now I've had frogs in my pond - behaving rather badly. A little discretion wouldn't come amiss, but they just on't seem to care.

A front lawn and a back lawn! Neither more than a few metres long or wide! I live on a modern housing estate, so I have a few small bits of grass, not grounds. There again, one set of neighbours are so lazy they employ someone to mow theirs...
