Hi muppets,

I'm planning to do a long ride around Snowdonia on 3 August. Anyone interested is welcome to tag along, the more the merrier

The plan is not finalised in all details yet, as I only started looking last night, but in general terms, here's what I want to do:

2 aug friday evening - Ride from London to a hotel nearby Llanwddyn.

3 aug saturday - follow the route that I came across on this site: https://www.adventurebikerider.com/snow ... cle-tour/ --> should be an all day thing with 230 miles or so to cover. Come back to hotel to rest.

4 aug sunday - ride back to london

Anyone interested is welcome to join me. Please confirm your attendance if so. I will post the departure time for the ride once i finalise my bookings etc.

The route will cover following waypoints (directly taken from the site, may alter a bit later on)

Llanwddyn
Dinas Mawddwy
Machynlleth
Aberdyfi
Beddgelert
Capel Curig
Bethesda
Caernarfon
Llanberris
Betws-y-Coed
Bronaber
Bala
Llanwddyn

I mapped the route on google maps broadly. Here's a link to it:

I noticed as I keep changing bits on my shared map, it reflected here as well, so I've made the same route on normal google maps in two sections.
UPDATED with suggestions from the NC forum. Added a couple of exciting bits :)

Great idea, unfortunately I disappear to Brittany on 30/7 so can't join you, hope all goes swimmingly.

We've used Swallow Falls Hotel at Llanberris before, which is convenient and has flexible accomodations.

Thanks a lot for the tip, just checked for my dates and there's no availability. I found a couple of hotels in about 20 min distance for a good price, so i'll book one of them.

I've used all up my going away for the weekend on the bike brownie point quota with the missus this year.

Looks a good un'. We did a x9ownersclub.co.uk weekend up there in 2013.

I'd set aside another day otherwise you're going to do mega miles.
850 miles in three days is a lot. I did 966 over four days last weekend and that was a lot.

It's about 230 miles from home (Friday night straight to hotel) and then the Saturday trip is around 210 miles in total spread over the day. Including Sunday return from hotel, it's around 600 miles. I should be alright i think, main worry is the pain in the backside even though i have the Shad seat.

966 over four days is about 240 a day which is even more than my 200 a day average :D But your seat may be more comfy than mine.
