Hi All,
So I've had my 09 plate Suzuki Burgman 125 with an aftermarket exhaust for around 3 months now and have found a few issues with it running and was hoping someone might be able to give me some pointers?
1. FI light coming on after running for a while - so I've noticed occasionally when riding the FI light comes on. It usually comes on when I'm running in slower traffic. At the same time The area under the seat gets quite warm. However if I turn the engine off for a few seconds and restart it the light goes off and doesn't come back on again. It never seems to inspect the running of the bike. Is there a way I can find out whst the issue is?
2. Power Lag when running cold - i assumed this was just because the engine hadn't fully warmed up but recently I noticed that the back wheel seems to struggle to turn for the first mile or so before loosening and running fine. Is it likely to be a brake issue such as binding brakes or something else?
3. Fast idle issue - occasionally when riding I notice that the engine is idling very fast after running for a while. Again it's not consistent and doesn't seem to be linked to the FI light. appreciate this isn't a lot to go on but any advice would be appreciated.
Let me know if there is anything that I could help clarify. And thanks all in advance for any help given.

If you still have the org exhaust put it back and give that a try, could be the aftermarket
is forcing the engine to run lean and therefore hot.

Unfortunately I don't, I bought the bike with the current exhaust. I did suspect that this was the most likely reason for some of the issues.Ralph wrote:If you still have the org exhaust put it back and give that a try, could be the aftermarket

I've been looking around for a replacement but they quite expensive compared to the value of the bike so I'm not convinced it's a worthwhile investment.
Do you have any thoughts on the stiff rear wheel? Is it possible that the brakes are binding?

Could very well be the rear brake binding maybe the caliper and pads just need a good clean.

It's a GPR exhaust that looks a lot like the one being sold at the link below on eBay. There is very little else I can say about it other than it being very loud.horobags wrote:what make exhaust is it?

That exhaust model is Scom.68 for 200cc Burgmans.
You should have this version

Or did you just randomly selected a photo of the exhaust for visual reason's ?
The seller mentions poor running may result in wrong exhaust selection.
Keep us updated. Cheers.

It was purely for visuals. It does look like the one you had in your link as well, but I couldn't tell you exactly which one I have since I didn't purchase or install the part. Unless of course there is some sort of marking on the exhaust that would give away the model details?muddyfox wrote: Or did you just randomly selected a photo of the exhaust for visual reason's ?

Burgman K9 UH125 multiple issues
For the avoidance of any further doubt, I have attached a picture of the exhaust in question. I assume there is no way of determining whether it is the right one for the bike?

If you have a removable baffle for it try fitting it.
