Italjet Dragster 559

Post by Pirahna »

I did a search and can't see this mentioned.

58hp and a six speed manual gearbox

Bizarre contraption isn't it! Its not so much styled as had a pile of random bits and pieces thrown at it! Having a standard manual transmission is so....old fashioned! I can't see who will buy it - bikers will think its a scooter, and scooterists will see it as a bike.
The smaller Dragsters are fab looking - but this isn't. The little Dragsters are mad but fab, whilst this one is just mad!

Now that looks like the ultimate hooligan machine, more power than the 650 Burgman and less weight, what's not to like. Well the lack of any luggage space, but that's just me and not what it's about.I can just imagine bombing around the city on that, the oldest hooligan in town :D . Depending on price I think it might sell.

Yeah...but the Tmax would be just as much fun - in fact more fun as the Tmax is automatic, so no fumbling for gears!

The smaller Dragsters all look a bit crazy but "cool" I guess. This one just looks plain unfinished!

At least it will mean Tmax insurance premiums will come down as this will be the new favoured scoot for crims. Although the manual box could prove a hurdle to taking the Tmax's dubious title.

I spotted that they are making a 300 version for 2024 too and they have borrowed the latest GTS engine for it. Should be good!

Only 24bhp, which isn't a lot. They'd do better with the 36bhp (or whatever it is) 350 Bev engine!
