Considering 400 Burgman

I'm considering a post 2017, 400 Burgman, but having owned a 2008 model sometime back, which I found very low (710mm /28") for my 6'3" height, I am a bit unsure. The later 2017 model has a seat height of 755mm/29.7" and might be better for me. I have sat on one and it didn't feel too bad. I also see that the power is down a bit from the earlier models. The 400 Burgman is popular, and I wonder if it would be more spacious and comfortable for longer trips than on my 300 Forza, which can feel a bit cramped for more than an hour or so ( see photo - a bit "snug"?)
I am interested in hearing from any tall owners ( 6'2" or more ) of the 2017 or later, 400 Burgman, on how you find it for comfort, for leg space in particular, wind protection / buffeting, handling, power etc, but mainly the comfort from a tall rider/owner's perspective.

It may or may not help, but if you track down the brand new edition of More Bikes (Mar 2024) (it can be read online if you can't find a paper copy), it has a comparison test of the BMW C400 and Burgman 400 (latest model obviously). Not a Burger expert - the model has changed a lot over the years, the latest models being rather smaller and compact (and less powerful) than than some previous ones. At one point, they were huge!

Thanks for that McGrumpy, smaller and compact are not good points for me. However, I've just read the More Bikes article, and the test rider says there was room for him at 6ft+, so it may be OK. Are there any tall riders on here got one currently?

Maxi Burger on here has a 2022 400. He's a big chap. I'll see if he can reply to you. He doesn't post very often but I'll alert him to your plea for info.

I'm an ex Burgman owner (2012). The only thing I would say is that due to euro regs the motor isn't very powerful. It kinda struggles to get to 80mph or do 70mph into a head wind. It's been retuned for lower speed riding with just 28 or 29 hp yet still retains it's rather heavy weight of 200kg's. Bit different to my 34ps engine that had 36.7 nm of torque!

Given the weight its about the same as the ADV350 for performance.

The old ones used to do a genuine (GPS checked) 90! Possibly not in a headwind though. It is the snag with most 400 scoots that they weigh as much as Tmax, but with less power and more basic engineering. I think the current Burger weighs 218kg (according to MoreBikes) which is a lot considering its compact dimensions. There again, they cost a lot less than Tmaxs!

I did have a 2008, 400 Burgman, which was fairly new at the time, had good performance, and was quick enough for me, but I couldn't possibly say if it would do 90! That was the one with the 710 mm seat height, which was too low for me. One of the far too many, that I have bought, then quickly sold, because I didn't get along with them. My Forza has been a success though, as I am now in my 3rd year with it ( a long time for me these days ), and still enjoying riding it. However, although I intend keeping the Forza, I do hanker for something a bit bigger, more powerful and with more room, as well.

My 2012 400 Burg would show 96mph on the clock in neutral conditions on the flat. GPS showed a sustained 92mph. My Burgman was the executive model & weighed 225kg's! Massively heavy. My Vstrom GT1000 with luggage weighed 227kg's which kinda gives an idea of just how heavy the Burgman is. But none the less, the Burg was pretty fleet of foot with it's 34ps.
