Transmission Replacement

Post by jeremyp »

I got my non-runner Burgman 400 I purchased home and when I put a battery in it and started it, I couldn't establish why there was no drive, until I took the crankcase cover off and saw this:

I've removed the variator and the fixed drive looks good (flat, not curved surface), however, the moveable drive is in worse condition and the rear plate has damage to it's teeth.

So it looks like i've got to replace both those parts, plus the spacer and seals and while I'm at it, the rollers. (2,4,5,6 in the diagram).

My question is, do I go OEM from Fowlers. Do I put in a set of Dr Pulley rollers, do I go for a kit like this: https://euroscooterparts.co.uk/malossi- ... k7-k9.html

I'm not looking for a change in the performance, just want to put good parts back in.

Thanks in advance

Jeremy
