The MyRoad project was cancelled before production was started, apparently because something more exciting was required. However, there has been a deafening silence ever since.

S'funny that, didn't the Kymco importers have the same trouble with the MyRoad 700i..? Hi Irev Nah I do think the Maxsym is a differnet kettle of fish compared to the ill fated Myroad. ( I did speak to Masco, the Kymco importer on this and they stated the Myroad would be far too expensive to import even if they were to produce it - note they no longer import the Xciting either). The engine for the SYM is already there (as we've dicussed, the 565cc engine they use in the quad bike is the likely candidate). Neil Proctor also stated the first imports of the 600 are due to arrive Jan 2011. I will pester him to hopefully allow me to have the first one.

Just read through this thread and was very interested in seeing a big new bike from SYM. So far everything they have sold in the states has been rock solid and fairly priced.

We're kinda pinning our hopes on the Taiwanese now that the Japs have completely lost the fucking plot... It's the Sixties, all over again...

If SYM keep there current price range (compared to the japs) I reckon the 400 would be about £4000-ish while the 600 would likely be about £5000-5500...ish.
But I do hope they sort out the silly service intervals and comically-bad translated manual! (SYM's greatest let downs).
I'm also worried about the exhuast - it looks like it would rust badly over here (hope they give us a stainless steel option though).
If they were to to rectify these three problems, then we could wave the japs goodbye for ever (or maybe it would kick some sense into them)!

You could of course avoid the Jap and other Oriental shite by buying from the Italians Its cheaper and better, you know it makes sense

If they were to to rectify these three problems, then we could wave the japs goodbye for ever (or maybe it would kick some sense into them)! I re-wrote the Italjet manuals just to get rid of the pidgin translations. (On a related note, the version of Chrome I'm using has recently implemented a Google-integral translation module so when you go to a `foreign` site, up pops an offer to auto-translate. So far, I am seriously impressed, it's far more syntax-accurate than the old Google translate and deals with idioms and technical phrases much more lucidly). SYM just need to stop thinking of themselves as bit-part players and they are ready to step up to Big Time. They already have the volume manufacturing capacity. That 565 single in the ATV would make a GREAT road bike engine - especially with the auto box and shaft drive. Don't think it's Euro3-compliant though. Just some small changes like service intervals and an accessory list (doesn't have to be their own) that includes more than windshield, top box and a leg cover.
