Hi Earl,
Your right in the in the fact that I've never been to/on a Scooter Rally, I only returned to two wheels in March this year after 22 years of being on four (or more) wheels. Regarding the ribbing, back in the early '70s when I started to ride there were big divisions between Motorcycles and Scooters and even between makers - UK, European, USA and Japanese, never the twain shall meet, oil and water. I suppose it was leftover from the late Fifties and Sixties Mods and Rockers.
My first bike was a Suzuki AC 100, so I was looked down on by the BSA, Norton etc. riders who still thought Jap bikes were made from 'Monkey Metal', though the reliability and build quality was far better than most UK makes. A throw back to WW II no doubt.
I have noticed, with meeting a few of the guys on this forum and reading the threads here, that there is a lot more tolerance now-a-days between brands and types of two wheeled riders. (Not forgetting the MP3 types...)
The point I was really making is that I did not know it was on. Maybe we (as motorcyclists) do not publicize our meetings/rallies enough so that more interest could be generated and therefore more awareness in all forms of motorcycling would happen.
I look forward to meeting you at a local event (we're both in the North West) some time.. (If I know about it in good time and its not raining

)
Keep the shiny side up.
