The 50cc peds don't but anyone on a maxi through to a power ranger usually nod although the big cruiser (Harleys) don't So not everyone nods then. I've tried to get some of the maxi riders at work together but nothing. You can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink. Ginge.

London must be a total nightmare to ride around-- but a lot of other cities seem to be gravitating towards it. I noticed so many drivers dont want to stop at roundabouts or junctions!

Certainly some bus and lorry drivers , seem to drive like they just dont care.Basically if you are involved in a fatal road traffic accident it will not be a nice process. You will be very shaken and arrested, taken in to custody and then the talking starts....... whatever the circumstances. The older I get the less I lke drive the car and the more I lke the scoot

London is really not as bad as some people think. Despite a lot of general aggressiveness and some pretty imaginative interpretations of traffic law (we call it the "London Rules"), the big plus is that everyone but tourists seems much more aware that there might be a biker about to shoot out from somewhere. It's much scarier in the sticks, where our breed is a bit rarer (well, during the week anyway).
Summary of some London Rules For Bikers:
Advanced stop lines - you must enter them so you can make a quick get-away. Yellow boxes - what's a yellow box? Green light = go Amber light = go Red light = you really shouldn't go, but hey... Bus lanes - we can use 'em all, can't we? Cycle lanes - shouldn't really, except on Lower Thames Street. Speed limits - wossat? Double solid white lines - overtaking zone Bus - take care when overtaking Bendy bus - overtake faster, cos it's so bleedin' long Black cabs = aggressive, unpredictable gits Minicab driver = like black cabs, but more aggressive (and unpredictable) HGVs & white vans - good drivers, usually allow you room Courier bikes - always have right of way. Always. Pizza Bikes - race them. Hopefully the toppings will spill. Filtering etiquette - fast before slow, small before big. Pedestrians in road, not on crossing - weave around them Pedestrians in road, not on crossing, using mobile - weave around, sounding horn. Tourist areas - sound horn at ALL junctions - they always look the wrong way. Cyclists - if you see one stop at a red light, buy a lottery ticket tonight, as you're obviously having a uniquely lucky day. Sports bikes - avoid. Fast in the open, but a bloody liability in close quarters combat filtering. Trail bikes - pants on fire. Avoid BMW with panniers - aggressive, won't yield in close quarters. Sports bike with high viz gear - bike plod. Bike plod - very nice, helpful fellows, who only exist to make the roads a safer place.
(Note to self: might edit this post later to put the last one in bold, should any of them be reading this).
(sorry for digressing)
