Agreed. I mean if they were lending it to say Carbon Can Co to use as a guinea pig for a new twin silencer sports exhaust (which could be arranged to be left on) you would snap it up, even though they would have flogged it on the rolling road for a few miles.
Just because it's to a company or for a product as yet unknown you dismiss it.
It might just come away with a nice set of chrome leg protection bars and a set of crash bobbins which wouldn't involve any 'mileage' being added at all. The extras might actually come in useful one day too.

I'd push for more details on the product and company first and consider what parts it might or needs to retain, and what their value would be to you, before walking away. You might be being a bit hasty.
