Are you getting brake lights when you pull the levers? Lever Switches OK?

oops!

yup brake light comes on
all stands up and clear

iam fairly sure it may be somethign to do with the keyless start and tmax connect as feels like it could be electronically disabled but cant find anythign online that helps...

If you rule out a dealer visit then you will have to go back to basics. For example ( assuming the starter is not working ) locate the main starter relay and short it across the heavy duty terminals to see if it turns the engine over and if the engine fires. From there it will be the usual checks, is there a spark?, is fuel being injected?. etc.
Without dealer specific electronic tools you don't have any easy options.

I presume it has one of those switches that cuts of ignition, thats not in the wrong position is it?

Make sure you are using the original transponder key with the chip in it.
My spare key turns bike over but will not start it since Honda did an ECU upgrade.

I had this exact same issue with my bike just 24 hours after buying it second-hand. I checked every relay and in the end gave up and paid my local dealer to take it in. They were at it for a couple of days before finally finding a slightly nicked wire between the started button and a relay somewhere that must have finally given out - just my bad luck, I guess. My symptoms were identical to yours - the bike would switch on, but pressing the engine start button did nothing.
