I had a Mk 3 Tmax 500 which was a great scoot. Reliable, fast, comfy etc. I would have the Kymco version at the drop of a hat, it looks like a great scooter. The only thing which put me off the TMax was the access to the engine, for valve servicing, which looked horrific. The Tmax front end needs almost complete dismantling for access to the valves, using a hoist to suspend the frontal body work while the valves are checked or shims exchanged. My current Burgman 400 on the other hand is easily accessible for valve servicing, although it doesn't have the same superb riding dynamics of the TMax. I suspect the AK550 would be similarly difficut since it follows the same engine layout?
