Post by shaun2007 »

Hi, thanks for having me. Like most on here, had bikes of all kinds forever, first max-scooter was in 2007 with a 500 T-max. Currently looking to sell my NC700D Integra to fund another CVT scooter (bloody brilliant, wish everyone could try one). Your opinions most welcome please on which bike next. Toying with Peugeot Satelis 500 or, 400 Burgman or, 650 Burgman. Your thoughts most welcome please 🙂 Thank you, Shaun

I went from a Kawasaki Thundercat to a Honda Silverwing for various reasons. Big and not to agile in my opinion so I went down to a suzuki Burgman 250 and was impressed with the handling and cornering of this light machine. So impressed that I got its big brother as well. I now own a Burgman 650 and what a ride.
Same handling and cornering with its low centre of gravity. An impressive ride. I would presume the 400 would be the same but I honestly believe that you would love the 650

I think its a personal thing. sit on one, check maintenance costs if you dont do your own and if you can go for a spin even better.
I know nothing about peugeot scooters since speedfight 50 my ex wife had.

huge difference in feel between the 400 and 650's. not easy to push around the 650. with the 400 youre paying for cvt maintenance over payments. the 650 ecvt repair will be one payment that totals all the 400 intervals in one shot. otherwise, both engines are quite easy to work on for maintenance and have been honed over many years. 2007-2016 400cc has a HUGE seat storage area. I think the largest of any scooter. tons of videos on how to do maintenance on 400/650. 650 has 3 areas you replace oil and 3 filters, 2 plugs. 400 2 places you change oils. 3 filters 1 plug and cvt work but thats every 14500miles so not a big deal.

I don't think the early Satelis's had ABS.
