Accessory Socket 650 exec

Post by Noggin the Nog »

Will not be getting my new exec until April, but can someone tell me if the accessory socket remains live when the ignition is off or not ?
Just wondering if you can charge your phone or gps up whilst not riding?
Cheers,
Noggin.

Must say I'm not sure and as I no longer have mine I can't go and check, but sure someone else will answer soon enough.

One thing you may find useful is this 3-way extension as it has side-mounted cable so the plug fits and allows the door to be closed, there's also one with a USB output too.

Cheers for the tip Bud, as it will only be needed for my phone and gps, I'll be going down the usb route. ;)

Only live with the ignition on.
Not live with the ignition off.
To use optimate, you will need to run a lead from battery terminals.

The charge socket is live from the Ignition only.

I have posted on the burgmanriders site how I resolved my sat nav via usb charging issue from the socket which is stupidly too close to the door when in use.
Please note I advise getting a 2000mah mini usb adapter which are only a few pence more as certain devices draw more current and then will not charge successfully.

Thanks Noggin. If you are getting the cable from China via ebay you might as well save more money and also get the Mini usb adapter for only £2.85 from a UK ebay source..... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Black-Mini-US ... 1645wt_952
