If the on board computer can be believed I am getting around 72 to 75mpg on a variety of roads and mostly sticking to speed limits.

Well my running mpg indicator seems to stay at 16.1 to 16.4 mile/litre (around 72-74mpg) no matter what I do, but my first fill up since getting her home, plus a few local runs gives 68mpg (on Fuelly) I'll have to do a few gentle countryside runs and see If I can improve it..

I had pretty good FC when I drove calmly. if I remember correctly...around 25 km/l +/- -around 58mpg
I cant remember how much per tank.


once I had the Fii light (btw, from what I understand it means fault indication, not fuel injection) with c28 code, and stva, I had to keep the secondary throtle locked open horizontally and thats when the FC was worse. the stva healer $90 doesnt fix the issue really, its just a bandage on the problem. the bike runs very throaty with the valve open. you will have to keep the valve open. btw, if you open your valve, pay attention that if you keep it open by eying it, its going to be partially closed because the throttle body isnt horizontally installed. it sits pointing upwards a bit. so what you should do is use the selfie camera to see inside inside and adjust it by that

this is why I have resentment against suzuki. they dont offer an option to buy just the stva unit. the plastic gears inside go bad and dont work after time, annoying. I may send the teeth/gears out to be 3d printing when I have paper to rebuild the engine.

Rocketman have you tried Micbergsma's cure for the STVA on You Tube? He just turns it various ways and the thing starts working again, as I understand it.
Maybe it's turned until the teeth are meshing in a different part of the cog where they are ok? The video shows it opening with the throttle and the FI light going our IIRC.

mine are the cogs inside being a bit worn out. but yea I did follow his video. its not terribly complex to understand what he did.

btw, from what I understand one is not to remove the stva as its fine tuned by suzuki and basically takes it of calibration.

the 2018+ has a different kind of stva unit. im considering finding a used one and installing that on mine.

Is that even after you 'zero' the fuel trip meter 2wheel? My 2012abs 400 was incredibly economical inspite of me wringing it a bit now and again. I regularly recorded 85-88mpg but that was without much town work which really drags it down. My usual cruise speed was around the 65-70mph mark, much like I stick to on my GTS300ie. In fact, my Burgman is probably one of the most economical bikes I've ever owned apart for the very small Hondas I had way back in the day.

Fuel trip meter? Ahem, no. I didn't even know there was one. I don't really bother with those things, using Fuelly pretty slavishly..

Fuel economy this fill-up, 73.6 mpg. It doesn't seem to get any better than this. 80's and 90's is nothing but a dream..
