Under pressure..

I took the Burger off road today. Nothing extreme you understand, but a couple of miles of uncomfortably bumpy.
Would it have been worthwhile deflating the tyres a little and if so how much? (I have a little 12 volt pump so could have re inflated them easily)

So I tried it again today with both tyres deflated by about 10psi and it was much better. The only worry was that while re inflating with my 12 volt pump I was scared of flattening the battery because of the need to leave the ignigion and the lights on.

Leave the engine running whilst pumping tyres up ?

Don't rev up the engine when pumping up the rear tyre.

Yes, I guess that's the answer.

Ug, that could get messy.

I don't suppose the battery would go flat during the 10 minutes or so it takes to inflate the tyres.

If it does, then it's time to buy a new one!
