You’ve done a good bad job there Tom.....watch the ice and for goodness sake be careful - you don’t bounce so easily!

So I removed the cover and gave everything a once over. It all looks fine, the variator and the sliders are moving freely and the belt looks good. No sign of unusual wear or anything.

I removed the clutch bell and clutch but I didn't bother taking the clutch apart, I checked the bearings and they were smooth and the grease was clean and fresh looking.

I have decided that I will replace the front variator pulley when I can find one so if anyone sees a good used one for sale then please flag it up. I don't know how much a new one costs but I'm guessing they are pretty expensive.
