Not starting

Post by Burgman53 »

Hi all, i have a 2001 an400 burgman owned it for about 3 months and its been great, but last week went to start it to return home from work pulled in the brake as normal to start it and nothing after several attempts it started. The next day went to go work and nothing, front and back brake lights work ok and i can hear a click when i check the side stand switch so they all seem ok. Battery is fully charged, but there is nothing from the starter motor no clicking or anything. Any help please.

Check the starter motor wire connections. These can get corroded over time and you suddenly find the starter cannot draw enough current so it won't turn over. Also work the kill switch several times off and on, off and on. They also can get corroded and prevent engine start up because of inactivity ;) .
Probably not ugly enough for the 'Ugly Bunch'!

The leads or the switch? could be helpful for others who may come along.
