Had a quick look over a cruisym300 at P&D Wakefield while mate collected his new enfield, nice looking machine, anyone got any thoughts or opinions

Well my SYM Joymax 300 puts out 28.5hp (though many sites round it up to 29hp) and the Joymax 125 now has a 15hp motor. Bit heavy 192kg dry (prob 200-205kg wet) Looking it up the Cruisym produces 27hp & weighs 198kg dry I'd presume, guessing meeting new euro 4 has lost some power and added weight. I like it put aren't to interested in ownership due to price, increased weight, less power over my Joymax. If they was to produce it with the 125cc 15hp motor at less than 4k I might get one as personally once my Joymax goes I'll most likely just stick to 125's.MrGrumpy wrote:Hmmm - it looks basically OK, though a bit overstyled in places.
£5k for a 300 scoot of unstated power & weight (and Sym aren't renowned for large power outputs) is a seriously premium price!!
A reasonable power output then, though its on the heavy side. I guess the snag is for 'only' a grand approx more, you can get a Burger or Xmax 400, with significantly more power but little more weight, or for somewhat less, you can get some other 200-300cc scoots with almost as much power and less weight. btw I think Sym asking £4500 for a Joymax 125 is outrageous!!!Drago wrote: Looking it up the Cruisym produces 27hp & weighs 198kg dry I'd presume, guessing meeting new euro 4 has lost some power and added weight.

Which is all I have to say on the matter.
