To screen or not sh125

Post by honda fairy »

Took sh for blast to strattie at weekend about 100 miles round trip. Have been running with no screen but shoulders felt particularly stiff and deffo got wind blast on helmet.
Does anyone have a screen fitted and did it make significant difference.
The old fes came fitted with screen so was quite sheltered compared to the open sh.
Have you got honda screen or after market?

Many thanks
Diana

it will definitely help with less wind noise through the helmet. mpg and speed takes a little hit. with/without a screen makes a significant difference. less wind on torso and less buffeting on helmet.

Screens are good , and may be worth more speed and better fuel economy due to the improved aerodynamics as opposed to your body . There are probably a few aftermarket options for the SH .

I fitted a small Givi screen to my SH125 when I had it, found it just right. Got it on Amazon.

Definitely benefits from a screen, but be careful with the height.

It's possible to merely direct all airflow straight to your helmet, so either keep it low enough that airflow is below or (if it's possible for your height) deflects it entirely over your head.

Many thanks for all replies, food for thought.
Will go screen less for rest of year and see how it goes.
I found the givi screen, looks good as I think honda one too big for me.
The old fes did have good screen but once it rains you are then looking through visor and screen, choices, choices. icon_rain2.gif

dont worry about looking through the screen. it is not an issue. its better on the screen then in your eyes. you can alsospread some rainx. it works REALLY well. I use it on my helmet visor as well after each rain. water just runs right off. the biggest problem is not fresh rain, but the mud from others splashing back at you. the rainx helps a lot. that an an added inside fog strip

summer no screen, winter, a must imho. you can tuck behind it. less noise, less wind pushing your head around.
