There seems to be a shortage of Members in the North of England, Any suggestions as to how we could get more people on board? I see other Maxi Scooters about so they exist in West Yorkshire but short of a rapid U turn and a chase followed by an arrest for stalking, any other suggestions as to how we could increase the membership?
How did the site get started? Did we all find it via Google or was there some other publicity?

Re: New Members
I send people to the muppets forum at every chance I get, online or in person (at least two of those are on here and posting so it works)
How about organising some runs/get togethers like the Ugly Bunch do in the north west, then the strays might start chasing the group of maxis to see what the hell is going on
To answer your question, I arrived by google when I was researching what scooter I wanted to buy

Re: New Members
In any club theres always a number of very active members and others who dip in and out. Increasing the numbers locally, increases the chances of active members locally. And as Bluebottle suggests when people see a group out together it attracts interest. I just find it frustrating that all the meets etc. involve a big ride out just to get there. The ones I have been to have been great but I would like to do more this coming season. If Solo in Leeds gets in touch then its a start.

Re: New Members
Some people just don't do internet forums, plus Phil has the forum set up so not all the forums are visible for wide consumption.

Yep internet forums are full of weirdos, stalkers and perverts, i'd never hang out on one

Have you thought of moving closer to the meets? London is friendly, warm and is holding the olympics this year!Gerard C wrote:There seems to be a shortage of Members in the North of England ... I just find it frustrating that all the meets etc. involve a big ride out just to get there.

Re: New Members
Gerard, at this time of year, not much happens, but in the meets/rideout section, if you post a future meeting, with a couple of weeks notice, you should get a good turn out, I think meetings and not ride-outs are a good idea, so we all can have a chinwag. The ugly bunch are unatractive, but active , throughout the summer up north west , so there should be a good few meets to attend .

Im not a gynecologist, but I dont mind taking a look.

Re: New Members
According to this site poll of 229 replies, 8% (18) are from the North East of England. The SE is commuter driven so more 2 wheelers that have to ride, where I would think most 'Northerners' ride for pleasure and not as a daily commute.
