Your sense of similar is interesting; hate to see you on the pull for women: "well she's almost like <insert hot woman> except shes 2 foot shorter, 200lbs heavier and face like a smashed melon" ;)
but nights here are also risky for our big bunnies (kangaroo), they tend to pop out unannounced
Can you not fit roo-bars? Maybe something like this but scaled back a bit?

In NZ during rabbit season, you'd get roads all-but covered in squashed bunnies; which could make it slippery...

Wow, that is one neat bullbar!!! bet the English thing you're from another planet
where are you located?

Tonight, well, before sunset I went for a little ride to a local waterfall (Apsley Falls) along the Oxley Highway about 45km east of my home...a warm 24C, plenty of bugs as the sun goes low....happily cruising along the long straights on the Nexus...
now there's 2 more days to consider a ride...how nice...(so far no rain, we are in storm season, some areas are getting up to 200mm (4inches) rain in one downpour, glad its not here

Thursday 8th March, first sunny days in a while.
As you may have seen on the news we're having a bit of a flood problem, well, south of here - some claim the flooded area is bigger than the UK, you know how big that is, large pond.. pity those caught up in it -

Meanwhile...the sun came out on the last day of my week off, so I rode the little red baby down and up hills, round bends (over 380 of them), stopped at a few cafes and had a wonderful ride...not many pics because on those winding bends there's little room to stop and the bike traffic there can get rather fast and risky... so a nice few shots of the Nexus in the forest straights and a wiggly road on a map, all this starts at my doorstep, how lucky for me....

the wiggly road...The most popular bike road in Oz !!

Most lovely day, its Autumn here, starting to cool off (3C yesterday morning!!) so not many mountain roads from now onwards as they get greasy with moss...

Bye for now

Last weekend I rode up some lonely little roads to a place called Nundle, even sounds relaxing...

stopped enroute for a refresher....and a cig :D

Image

Got to the township, found some lovely little shops and not much else, but, the sun was shining and at 28C wasn't a bad autumn day!!

old shoppe with grape vines out front...
Image

I do like the shock/height adjustment of the Nexus, transforms the bike for twisty roads and it's so nice on the open highways!!

This weekend, Easter, nothing planned...police everywhere, double demerits if you're caught speeding...didnt stop me today, went for a quick recharge to some lovely waterfalls about 40km away it was a warm 24C with not a cloud in the sky, brilliant.
Sitting dead on legal (100kmh) can be so boring when you know it's expensive to get caught

here's my baby sitting under the trees in late sun...
Image

it looks brighter, these pics were done on my phone, this last one was on "sunset" mode...seems to make it shinier

Happy Easter to you all!!

Tomorrow I plan to go on a new road, recently sealed, thru some scenic backwoods..hope to share the ride with you all after when i get home...

Today, Easter Saturday I took off in perfect sunshine, 60kms down my street I turned off into this recently sealed road, I love new scenery!
The road took me along pastures and farms and down a steep decline full of hairpins and wonderful bends, and stopping 70 or so kms later at a lovely cafe where I enjoyed a cuppa with a slice of something yummy....
just 2 pics, google the road, you'll see how big this place is

one at the start, needed to clean the bugs off my shield...
Image

and I stopped along the way home for a cig, love the look of those poplar trees in autumn, this one was in the policemans yard at a little town called Walcha Road (a railway stop of olde)..
Image

Everything is so far around here, this little loop was about 180kms....can't complain, it's uninterupted riding, little or no police, and the scenery is simply stunning ;)

When I, ummm I mean a friend, did the coast road from Sydney to Brisbane my friend got a ticket crossing the border. Stupid cop was hiding behind a billboard like a bad Hollywood movie, busting tourists as the speed changed from 110kph to 100  As i was leaving in a couple of days I my friend never paid it  but must be a nightmare having such a big country and such low limits...

Also I notice your ADVrider sticker, you didn't say you were a fellow inmate ;)

Yeah Zed, i've been with ADVrider for many years, since I picked up this little red beauty of a NEXUS I've had a string of bikes..GS1150,GTR1400,GS1200,Hyper1100,Multistrada1100s,Hyper796 but the money ran out when the gfc almost flushed me dry, but I've managed to keep the scoot thru all those times and still enjoy it heaps. Yeah we do have some draconian road rules here, but the area i'm living is probably the only place I know of that has retained 100 limit through tight winding bends, anywhere else they'd have limited then to 60kmh, there's often an endless stream of bikes riding past my doorstep, its a great spot!
