Re: SH300 Xmax 250 comparison
Wrong.
Xmax far better looking and a much more versatile machine than the SH.
Storage: Xmax has more
Comfort: Xmax has more
Road presence: Xmax has more
Value: Xmax has more
Weather protection: Xmax has more
Fuel economy: Xmax has more
Cool factor: Xmax has more
The only thing in favour of the SH is the ABS, other than that the Xmax is the clear winner.

Re: SH300 Xmax 250 comparison
I can't speak for the Xmax as I've never ridden one but for the sake of argument I'll accept all the above Xmax points. None of those however, will help keep the bike upright if you need to grab a handful of front brake in an emergency. The ABS on my SH has kept me upright on at least two occasions in the past (that was a major factor when buying my next scooter, the Burgman) so I'd put that single feature above looks, value, style storage, fuel economy etc. I suppose it comes down to what you are looking for - a good looker or something with a greater degree of safety. I don't think I'd ever buy another bike without ABS but that's just my personal preference.gn2 wrote:Wrong.

Re: SH300 Xmax 250 comparison
Thanks guys
I think I have decided on a big wheel scoot and the SH300 has won several best scooter reviews and there has to be a reason for that. Its an ugly machine though even the xmax looks better and thats not much of a looker either. There are others the Sym Citycomm apparently runs the SH a very close second. Very few Yam Xcity`s to find any info on them and the same with the Peugeot Geopolis ?

If you look on e-bay you will find the spares availability of the SH300 very good, both second hand and new. Its always a factor when I buy a bike/scoot.
Personally I'm blown away by my SH300 in most areas except perhaps its luggage capability and the lack of a feet forward position.
Enjoy whatever you choose.

Re: SH300 Xmax 250 comparison
my sh 300 came with a topbox, and I must admit I loved it, very similar to my GTS 300, there both italian, I just love the vespa profile, which is why I bought it, the sh 300 came a very close second though.
Im not a gynecologist, but I dont mind taking a look.
Re: SH300 Xmax 250 comparison
I don't think the Geopolis is sold in the UK, I tried to buy one a few years back and they'd stopped importing them then.macp wrote:Thanks guys

Re: SH300 Xmax 250 comparison
Have you considered the Aprilia Sportcity 300?
Big wheels, better looks in my opinion to the SH300. Spares support is ok. Decent space under seat.
Very nice engine.
