Damn and Boll@cks

Post by Noggin the Nog »

Just put the first scratches on my new scoot :o :(
Was turning it around in the back garden was looking at the back end which was close to the wall whilst pulling it back and leant it over a bit to make sure the back end cleared and the bloomin front mudgaurd caught the line post putting several large scratches in the side
Have tried polishing em out, but still noticeable, might get some reflective stickers to cover em up.
But most of all I feel so angry with meself, warra tw@t

When I buy something new I'm worried about scratching, I get a craft knife and make a deliberate scratch. Once marked, anything else causes much less stress ;)

Sorry to hear that. Know how you feel. Did the same to my new B400 just a couple of weeks ago putting it away at work. However, my little scrap cause just two straight scratches to the side of the leg shield on one side. Luckily, some metalic T cut took both scratches out and a coat of Supaguard brought a lovely shine back. It was just the clear coat affected. If that handn't worked I'd have taken off the legshield and given the affected area another coat of clear coat from Halfords. Is it just your clear coat or has it cut into the metalic paint underneath?
Probably not ugly enough for the 'Ugly Bunch'!

We've all done it......
A couple of weeks ago I went out for a spin on my K1200 GT and fitted the panniers because I had to carry something.
When I returned home I pulled up at the rear gate and tried going thru' it with the Panniers still fitted
One deep scratch in a pannier and a valuable lesson learned....... :(

Last week I was getting off and my boot slightly caught the left hand side panel, no big deal but when I looked there was a small 2mm chip in the panel paint work. This was caused by my boots having metal tie hoops at the top of them. Honestly I thought about it all night and even thought of a chips away repair, but why it'll probably happen again. I still look at it though as if by magic it would not be there.
