I've just ordered one of these from the states, less than £100 including postage, in hindsight, wished I'd ordered the jeans with it.

But, I will have to buy the back, elbow and shoulder armour to put in it, or swop it out of my HG jacket as for some reason the AGV isn't supplied with it.

I've ordered stuff from outside the EU before and twice I got stung for import duty and VAT.
I think it's luck of the draw if they do collar you cos some of the items, I had no trouble with.

If they mark it as a gift and worth less than £40 you'll be ok.
But if you do get charged, you have to pay or you won't get your goods!

In the UK,the sizes of jeans etc. seem to be made for the slimmer guy of up to 42 inch waist and not even that
So when your a real man of a 46 inch waist ( or a real fat b@stard) your stuffed, and as a result I'm no stranger to ordering stuff from abroad.
I've found that some people you will deal with will mark down the cost of some items but on the whole the bigger companies will not as its not worth the hassle should they be caught out.
You have to accept whatever import charges they incur and put it down as a penalty for eating all them pies.

Going back to the original subject, I like HG gear but only certain items are available in my size, so its great that Australian (Pakistan) Bikers Gear do make clothes in my size and are readily available on ebay.

Ok stupid question time. My Aussie biker jeans arrived and they seem pretty good but they're the first I've had so in no judge. One thing tho the armour wasn't inserted and I'm puzzled as to which way to fit them. The knee protectors seem straightforward enough, rounded bit on the knee pointy bit down the shin but what about the kidney bean shaped hip protectors, which way round should they go?

Tricky to say from a dstance, but I guess there aren't too many ways, and go for which ever way is most comfortable!

It seems the choices are that the hip protectors have to go in 'portrait' rather than 'landscape' but the dip in the kidney bean shape seems equally uncomfortable whether it's at the front or back. The pads are also dual coloured and textured so I've plumped for having the smooth yellow side next to me and the rougher black side on the outside still can't see the point of the shape though. I wondered if it helped the pads to bend when sitting but it doesn't seem so.

Iam thinking of buying another pair of the Kevlar Jeans. I bought some off E bay a while back only wore them twice and the zip broke, but they were about £30 so i suppose you get what you pay for( they weren't from the Aussie shop).

On the ASB cordura hiviz trousers that I had off them, the hip protectors were already fitted with the dip facing forward, and the slightly bigger half at the top.
My jeans came with three identical hip protectors, so I have one with the yellow on one side, and one with black facing in on the other.
I'm not impressed with the quality of the jeans and will not be buying any more of them.

Hi Mel, what I dont like about them is that the zip is very cheap and was very difficult to operate at first, but got better after I applied a little lubricant to it, but still don't trust it. And the quality of the denim. Though they do have plenty of Kevlar in them.

My AGV Shadow Kevlar Jean Jacket I've ordered from the states is arriving tomorrow, so will be able to compare the quality of the materials. and will probably order some of their Shadow Kevlar Midnight Jeans, that is if the jacket is as good as I've been led to believe. (similar Quality to Levi's)
Its a bit expensive I know to import from the states, but to keep the cost down I will buy the armour for them from HG.
