After having (16g) Dr Pulleys fitted to my Tmax for some time now I decided to go back to OEM weights. Like most Yam scoots the Tmax is a bit sluggish on pull away and it really does benefit from the Dr Pulleys. It makes it a much better town bike. But on the motorway its just too revvy.
My Tmax has always been a bit vibey at certain revs/throttle openings and the Dr Pulleys heightened that too. So I after fitting the OEM weights I have found the Tmax is smoother and better on juice but if I'm honest I do miss the extra pull around town the Dr Ps gave it. Maybe a different variator is the best way.
Ditched the Dr Pulleys.

Surely, it shouldn't make much difference on the M-way? I've put the Malossi variator on my mk3 - it makes an entirely different bike round town, but it makes no difference on the open road.

The bike is in a constant state of higher revs compared to the oem ones.I suspect at maximum speed the gearing will come into play but everywhere else it will be revving more to achieve the same speed.

Maybe you needed some heavier Dr Pulleys.

But when you reach M-way speeds, the variator shouldn't have any more effect. Makes sense. Its just being in that constant state of higher revs that gets you thinking. Maybe you dont hear it over 60 anyway but its feels so much more buzzier and louder? It certainly seems less with the OEMs back in? I re-balalnced the carbs this morning. I seem to have finally managed to rid the bike of its vibes. I blame the poxy carbtune II. Anyone else got a carbtune II? If you have next time your balancing your carbs tap the thing and watch the readings change. grrrr.
