Re: warranty woes
KJM honour a warranty through insurance they take out not via the manufacturer. A lot of their bikes would appear to be sourced through bankrupt stock, discontinued lines, imports etc that's why they are cheap(er) but the warranty offered is with themselves or others in their dealer group. Not being a Piaggio dealer they cannot activate a Piaggio factory warranty.
I almost bought a Burgman 650 from them which was a US import but decided on the Tmax instead, but a friend went ahead with the Burgman purchase. He asked about the warranty especially as he was from London so not local to KJM at Chorley and they explained the warranty was via an insurance policy. They did pay out for the wheels to be powder coated after a year or so without any issues.
