I had one for 18 months an excellent engine, economical and responsive and no great reliability issues identified, MPG as good as many 250s.

I found the storage (with weird boot) very good though I know some find it odd, the rear boot doesn't fit all helmets but once you have the right knack as to how to use it most are OK (my HJC was fine).

Only thing I didn't like was harsh front end, I had my shocks replaced under warranty but still found it aggressive but I could've been unlucky or overly sensitive. The service interval was amended from 4k to 6k miles, but many unscrupulous dealers try to get customers to remain on 4k as the service book is misleading.

Overall I think it (and the Xevo) are often overlooked and a good option, but as with any second-hand bike a lot depends on how well it's been looked after.

had mine 18 months now..... been ok... only prob was a split ht lead that made bike misfire and cut out in heavy rain ...but aa man solved that in 5 seconds with special sealing tape..... make sure you tighten rear wheel nut competently if you ever change tyre or remove wheel.... i was driving round for a few days with no retaining nut...it had some how worked loose and fell off...even tho i used thread locker and a new split pin...handled like a pig till i spotted why... :D
always make sure the boot and seat are CORRECTLY clicked shut as the battery will drain overnight if not closed properly as i found out.....

they dont handle too bad...but wallow a bit if you try to push on round twisty lanes.... handling greatly improved with a pirelli diablo on front....

I've had a Xevo 400 - which is the X8 with different panels and a digidash - for a couple of years and put about 13.5k miles on it in all weathers all year round.

It's been very reliable and is good fun and economical with servicing, oil and fuel.

It's slower from a standstill than the Burgman 400 but has more mid and top range grunt. I think the 400cc master engine is very reliable so I'd have no worries about getting another.
