Given distances some may have to travel to the start point I'd suggest 10.30am.
Standard is to be EBFT (Empty bladder & full tank) for rideout start, helpful if the meet point is a petrol station.

How about the National Trust Car park on the now Old part of the A3 at Hindhead, has a Petrol station opposite.

FYI it is on the old A3 (just off the new A3) near Haslemere, south of Guildford, north of Petersfield, Surrey/Hampshire border.
By the tunnel.

Re: Southern Rideout/Meet Devils Punchbowl - 04/08/12
The petrol station opposite the National Trust car park closed down about 2 or 3 months ago (March-April) there is another station about half a mile south on the old A3 near the Grayshot turning. The NT car park is pay and display or free for NT members, however it is not patroled very often and unlikely they will ticket a group who are just meeting up. The old A3 outside the cafe car park is now almost deserted and is without restrictions, could meet there if a car park patrol appears. I would guess if there were quite a few riders going in for a coffee and cake (it is expensive but the cakes are well yummy), so long as parking is sensible and money is to be make by the NT cafe, the NT car park patrol would surely turn a blind eye? There is additional parking behind the cafe, on grass, all good if it is firm and dry (take a bike puck) and I think this is beyond the realms of the NT car park patrol as it's common land, and while there the view across the punch bowl is worth seeing. Hope this info helps all that thinking of meeting up.
