I drove over from Holyhead today (after 1500 miles round Ireland in a lot of rain) to Chesterfield and on four wheels it was really bad.

The forecast is a bit hit and miss but in the light of recent meteorological experience it's probably the right decision to cancel.

I think Frank is right to have cancelled the ride ,the roads up there are tricky on a good day, but on a bad day they are lethal, and if someone got hurt on a ride i had organized i would feel guilty if i had not cancelled it .
I was up that way yesterday in my truck and the road conditions were horrendous,
so i am with Frank on this one ,disappointed it as been cancelled but the right decission as been made ,has especially when there is some traveling up on the day before and needed to know if the ride was on or not

If anybody still wants to have a ride out, probably shorter, possibly wetter, me and Scud are going to give it a go. We will be coming down from Wakefield. If anyones interested in meeting up just say - (you have until about 8 tonight to say so), we can organise something on a very quick basis. It cant be any wetter than our ride home from Whitby Ha Ha. We were near swimming at one point near Stokesley.

too late for us from south as we already re-planned the weekend but i'd say go for it. All day there's not been a single drop of rain here. All sunshine... Could have been a great day for ride out...

There is 5 or 6 people on here who spend time organising meets & rides , but there is 5 or 600 members who are fast enough to slag them off if things go wrong ... it pisses me off
No ride is cancelled lightly, i will cancel any ride i organize if i think the ride is unsafe.
