How good is this?

Post by Gerard C »

A new member Scud was coming round Lincs with us.. changed his mind. Not because of the weather. Because he booked a Ferry and packed his tent on his Burgman 400. Gone touring France - just like that. On his own. What a great thing to do. Last message I got he had been rained off the Bike, but was now set up on a neat site. Heading off in the am.

Hi , scud here, re my French trip. Weather wasn't good from the start, had been expecting better (or at least hoping),first day was poor, at one stage took cover in a bus shelter in a little village.Eventually got down to Limoge after spending some time near Tours,(including 1 entire day in tent due to yet more rain). When another day dawned, heavy with rain,I packed up and headed home, having spent 7 days there and not the 12 as planned. Came back in one day, total of 730 miles plus ferry from Calais, took 19 hours including petrol and grub stops. At least I know why the rivers are so big over there ----it's the same reason we have the b****y Lake District !!!!! But I'll go again and again--until I get it right!

cheers scud

To Scud and yourself both for having a sense of adventure

I do like a good road-trip, or hearing about someone elses.
Geat camping to be had in France too
