Northern Riders - A quick one

Post by Gerard C »

Two things - Alan and I are having a day off and going for a ride. I have to be in Chester first thing on Thursday AM for about an hour then the World is our Lobster! Any one want to join us on a meander? We are completely open to route / destination.

Thursday evening we are going to have a re visit to the Trad Club in Wakefield. Who would have thought the Buggers would actually go for a ride out before we got there?

Well they went well, thanks for asking. Alan and I did approx 250 miles on the ride out. Can't be exact because neither of us bothered to check properley. We rode to Chester across the Woodhead Pass to Chester, quite chilly and Misty over the HIlls. Surprisingly light traffic through Denton so we made good time to Chester.
After a short delay to do some work we were off. Heading for Llangolen and the Horse Shoe Pass. Got Lost. For some reason my Sat Nav would not recognise any Welsh place names or indeed Scottish - I checked. So it was back to the Map book. Got lost.

Eventually arriving at the Ponderosa at Lunch time for a much needed food stop. We then set off back following our noses and made great time non motorway route. Back over the Woodhead this time via Holme Moss - This must surely be one of the best roads in the North - Just a single car all the way to Holmfirth.

Finished off with a small friendly duel with a BMW Biker through Denby Dale. Kept in check by the limits we opened out in the Nationals and gave him a surprise.

Arrived home with big grins on our faces.

Out again at 7 to the the Trad Club in Wakefield - Thanks to the Wakefield Outlaws for making us welcome. Some very nice Scoots. We were joined by Paul a new member of our little group. HIs Gold Majesty made a contrast to the Grey and Black(ish) Burgmans and Steves Sym.

Nice Guy and looking forward to a real ride out with him - His Dads still an active rider on an S Wing so he can come along as well.

Great Day all round from start to finish.
