So whats the best, average and worst mpg you've got out of a scooter/motorcycle and is there
a reason why?
My best mpg from the GTS was acheived today, 93mpg on 95 unleaded. Traffics been busy
lately so I've going slower and therefore at lower RPM, also had a major service earlier this year.
My average mpg is 85-87mpg during non holiday periods due to less traffic and clearer roads.
My worst mpg was 80mpg, caused when my exhaust broke all around the front of the silencer!

Re: Best/average/worst MPG
I have just checked from my last fill up 181 miles 12.07 litres 68 mpg. That's the best I have had. I have only been getting around 160 miles to a full tank.

Re: Best/average/worst MPG
On my various TMaxs, the best I've got is about 63mpg - on a ride out with IAM people sticking to speed imits, whilst worst was 43mpg on a fast thrash to and from York at 80-85 all the way in winter!!

Re: Best/average/worst MPG
87.9mpg on a solo trip to Birmingham from Colchester and back. I kept to a very very slow 58
-60mph just to see how good it would get. I did have a couple of bursts of 85mph for a few miles but only to break up the boredom. Overall it was a good relaxing ride.

Probably not ugly enough for the 'Ugly Bunch'!

Re: Best/average/worst MPG
See the average over close to 9,000 miles in my signature, mostly commuting, about half country blacktop and motorway, the other half in city. Best and wurst (A German vegan's biggest fear...) about 15% in either direction for reasons that you would expect - slow and easy open-road ride on the one hand, heavy city stop-and-go on the other.
And yes, I know how to spell worst...

Re: Best/average/worst MPG
Yesterday on the way home the low record for my carbed Xciting 500: 6.87 litres for 182km (google maps distance) = 74.7 mpg (UK). Except for a long traffic jam nearly perfect conditions (mostly 80-100kph motorway). Shaked the scoot to remove air bubbles in the tank and topped up again at each petrol station.
Average 58.1, worst 41.3 (during a safety training).
That's my dear guzzler, every of my other/previous scoots consumes less and performs less.

Re: Best/average/worst MPG
Best I've had was about 110mpg, average is 96mpg.
My all time worst mpg was on my Kawasaki Z1300 which I filled in Glasgow, rode to Edinburgh then to Stirling.
It went onto reserve before I got to Stirling.
As I recall it worked out at around 17mpg.
You couldn't do that nowadays with all the speed cameras, your licence would be confetti in no time.

I dont care though we have the highest gas prices ever here now in Germany ( up to 1.79 Euros per litre ) for nothing gives you more fun riding than a scooter for lesser gas costs

Re: Best/average/worst MPG
Got just over 90mpg recently. Warm weather, light traffic but not so much that I was flat out on the fast A roads and motorway.
In heavy traffic I drop down to around 80mpg, and on fast motorway runs I as low as 60mpg. The latter is due to continuous running at 9000+ rpm!
