You may be of the opinion that the Wombles music was not good, but it did enjoy some success.
I despise Michael Jackson but he was a huge success.
I despise the TGS and it remains to be seen if it will be a success.
You may thing the TGS is fabulous, I may think it is poop, our opinions really don't matter, the TGS was created to be sold, if it sells then its a success, if it doesn't sell it will be a failure.

The only thing Wombles inspired was taking the kids to the Common.
I remember those days. Frackin kid's never picked up a single bit of litter. Instead they just sat on their fattening arses eating toffee wearing tank-tops, flares flapping in the breeze just watching pieces of the Times flutter by in the hope that the verminously furry Great Uncle Bulgaria would pop out to complete his collection...

I much prefer the GT version but an interesting review. Glad to hear the quality has improved, but if a Tmax 530 is better made then whos seriously going to buy the BMW?

Someone who wants the extra 15bhp and ABS?
Personally, I think the GT is ugly, and the Sport definitely gives a more lively ride.
Love the electric screen on the GT though.
I'm not keen on the feel of the brakes on either model. Very spongey.
And BMW definitely need to offer a low seat option for women and anyone with an inside leg shorter than 32".

Having said that, thoroughly enjoyed the ride down to Brighton and back with the Vines of Guildford punter posse last Saturday, as did everyone else, I think. No-one thought the price was right though.

The brakes are much better than the TMAX. I was really impressed with them. They had better feel and more bite. I would say that the TMAX's brakes are more spongey. Too little initial bite, then they lock up very suddenly. The BMW brakes are much more progressive.

And yes you're right. I did want the extra 40% power hike over the TMAX and the ABS. I'm with StevenC on the ABS front. I've just ridden a 2000 mile nine day tour of France including the gorges (Verdun, Tarn, Ardeche and the Route Napoleon) with a bunch of bikers riding BMW K1200s, Ducati 999s, Diavels, Fireblades and the works. Let's just say I wasn't the slowest by far on a TMAX Mk3. Out of 14 bikes I would put myself at number five or six.... Highlight overtaking three Ducatis in the corners. Fireblade rider was easily dispatched on almost every occasion. Still wanted more power. Don't like the Mana or the SRV. So went for the BM...

The manual screen is also very easily adjustable. Just spin the knobs, move the screen and spin the knobs back. Easily achievable at a traffic-light stop. The screen is also vastly superior to that on the TMAX Mk3.
