Thats the stuff I noticed at the NEC, seems it hasnt altered. It really is inexcusable on a machine of that price and the badge. Still, wont bother a lot of people at all.

Hmm. Agree they look shit. And shortly following that is my big bugbear. The dreadful sand cast effect on the chain cover. Terrible. But it really has absolutely nothing to do with quality. Fiddle with TMAX plastics on the handle bars and they do the same thing. The plastics around the dash of the TMAX vibrate like nothing on earth, only dampened by bits of foam, strategically placed by me. What you are talking about though, is perceived quality. The bigger question is, will the BMWs be reliable and how much warranty work will they need. How long will they spend in the workshop on recalls. I do a high enough mileage to be that guinea pig.

Edit that video is the best I've seen. Gives a real sense of the beast...

The screen is also vastly superior to that on the TMAX Mk3.

But the Tmax mk3's screen was so appalling that isn't saying much!!!!

Yet the TMax Mk3 screen was a considerable improvement on that of the Mk1 & 2!

At launch the Satelis was criticised for poor quality plastic on the glovebox and handlebar cubby lids.

I'm now on my 3rd Satelis covering 87000miles since 2007 and I've had no problems with plastics quality whatsoever.

I don't suppose any of your Satelises (Satelii?) have been 500cc models?
I'm not sure they were ever officially imported into the UK by 3X.
I've seen one 500 Satelis on Ebay, which looked a bit dodgy, legality-wise.

3X is near me, and yes they imported the 500s.... I once saw four lined up there. The 500 was an official UK model, on their website and in their brochure, cant imagine why youd think otherwise?

All 3 are 250s.

Yup, the 500 was official. Kevin Ash tested one for the Telegraph and just last year 3X used one to promote Ride To Work day.

Only difference between UK and Europe models is likely to be headlight aim as you can switch from metric to imperial measurements in a few seconds.

You can see how many are registered on howmanyleft. Also, if you enter the reg number on 3X's accessory & spares website it will confirm the identity for you if the scooter was imported by them.

Hopefully they will bring the mk2 in soon. It is just appearing across Europe now as a 125. The 300 (Quasar 278) and 400 (Peugeot's own, possibly also with compressor variant) will follow. German riders get a 4 year warranty. Doubt 3X will give us that.

Not IMHO...the mk1 /2 screens were merely awfully noisy and a bit turbulent, but the mk3's was utterly deafening and the turbulence was so bad it shook my head!!!!!!
