Sorry to post here but you were asking what the rev counter is reading @ 60mph on my Gilera and I thought it would be more relevant to answer here. The answer according to my rev counter is 6800rpm although doesnt feel like its revving as high as that.

Thanks mac, that sounds pretty relaxed to me for a smaller engine. It's designed to run at high rpm I guess but 6800 sounds good and no doubt it has plenty left in the 'pot' for overtakes on long wide roads! Enjoy!

Just noticed that the later model 400 Burgman, I think from 2010 onwards, has a different final drive gear ratio to the 2007 new version engine. Not absolutely sure why this is. That must be why the later models have the redline set at 8850rpm instead of 8500rpm...
