My local Piaggio dealer stocked some SYMs to see how they went, basically it was a great success for them as youngsters coming in to buy Vespa/Piaggio saw the cheaper SYM and bought em. The Piaggio range is still selling very well for them but with SYM they captured the less well off buyers!
Now, they rang the importers to get some more and they didnt have any, but offered them some Daelims on sale or return.
They have an S3 250 which is a demo and they rate it quite highly, its a bit ugly though but seems well made.
They have a B Bone which they feel is too pricey and a Habana lookalike which is cheap but bit dodgy styling and exposed screwheads all over the front.
They also have two bikes, a naked one and a faired one which seem good.
But, no one is interested and are waiting for the SYMs to arrive, seems no one wants to take a punt on a relatively unknown make?
Id say that the S3 is a bit of a winner, yes its odd looking but seems as well made as anything else from that part of the world and the plastics actually look better than the SYM Joyride they have.
Daelim, anyone had one?

Re: Daelim, anyone had one?
£3300 for a 250 seems about par for the coarse, and I could live with the looks.
I'd give it one...(A punt, that is).

Re: Daelim, anyone had one?
It has keyless start, as long as you have a key in your pocket it starts with a switch. When you walk away this disables, however.... they discovered if you turn off via kill switch it will start again and again with the key away from the scoot!
Also, the lights have a blue hue about them. They say cars in front always move out of the way quickly, especially as its white too! I hope they are a success, but so far the dealer has said they probably wont do them on account of no sales. Im hoping to have a ride when my Vespa has its service.

Re: Daelim, anyone had one?
Never had one but reviews for them are quite positive. I'd say they are probably a few years
behind SYM in the known/reputation area. Plus they're Korean not Taiwanese. My dealer who
deals in SYM also deals with Daelim.
He had A S3 125 in I liked the looks, specs and price. Only thing that put me off was the keyless
ignition plus many reviews mentioning it was prone for water to get into the electrics during heavy
rain. Which here in the UK we get quite a lot! Also it was priced at what the 250 now is. So are they
not selling I wonder? I think my dealer sent his back, it was in there for ages.
Give it a few years and they'll probally catch on, sort of like SYM have.

A shiny new 250 maxi for £3300 sounds pretty good value to me.

Re: Daelim, anyone had one?
the plastics are very poor quality, spares hard to get and expensive, they are cheap because they are cheaply made

Re: Daelim, anyone had one?
Sounds just like a BMW then, apart from the cheap initial purchase price.

The plastics on the S3 I saw were as good, if not better than an equivelent SYM.

I've been having a look around on the interweb and info is thin on the ground.
Plenty stuff in foreign though and some vids, from that my initial impression is that the S3 looks pretty OK.
